The land of Otani
It is around Maruyama, the foot of Mount Higashiyama in Kyoto.The hermitage in Yoshimizu where Hohnen created the Nenbutsu-praying Amidabha at the temple of Otani where he lived in his later years were located around there. Shinran's ashes were consigned to this land in 1262, and they were transfered to the northern part of Yoshimizu, where his grave was established in 1272. It became the land of Otani.
